Evaluation

1.What new skills, techniques and knowledge have you learnt from producing the preliminary activity?

I have learnt many skills whilst making the preliminary task and one of those skills was how to edit on iMovie. I never used iMovie before so I learnt efferent ways to edit. An example of this is being able to split a clip. This allowed me to put the clips into different sections of the film and take the parts out of the film which I didn't want. I also learnt how to add music to the trailer and to merge two songs together to portray the trailer in a dramatic and calm way. A new technique which I also used was to put a cinematic look on the trailer by using two black rectangles on each side of the trailer.

2. How did you work with other people in your production team?

I worked with two different people in my group in which we decided the different shots which were needed to be used and also we talked about all the cut scenes in the trailer and also the script such as the words which was going to be in the film. We all worked well together as a team to get the best possible outcome.

3 What role did you play in the production?

My role whilst making the film was doing the acting in the film and also directing my group on what shots were needed and also what was needed to be said. I feel like I had an important role in making the trailer which is good as I like to be involved in as much as possible whilst making a film.

4. Would you have done anything differently?

I would of re-shotted some of the clips as there could of been some more speaking in the trailer as there was hardly any. I feel like that could of taken my trailer to the next level as it would give the trailer a more professional look and stand out from others.

5. What parts of the process did you find most challenging?

One thing which I found very challenging was when the music changed midway through the trailer. It took me a long time to merge the music together and also make it good and professional. Eventually, I was able to do that but it did take me a long time.

6. How did you overcome this?

As I said before, I spent a long time merging it together and getting the right balance and timing of when the music should change. I feel like eventually I got it spot on which I was very pleased about.

7. How successful was your final media product? What are the strengths and the areas that you need to work on in future projects?

All together, I am very pleased with my final media product as I spent a lot of time making it so I feel like I put a lot of effort into making the best I possibly can. My strengths of my trailer is the editing techniques I used as I used different techniques to make the trailer the best it can. I leant new skills whilst making this trailer and now I have a knowledge on how to edit and put together a trailer in the future. The areas I need to work on in the future is making sure tea acting is better in the trailer as this will make the trailer music better quality and look more professional.
